Tattoo Aftercare

It is critical to follow all aftercare instructions to prevent complications, scarring and to achieve optimum results. Please read carefully.

There is minimal pain after your procedure however you may have slight swelling and tenderness

For the next few days your tattoo will be dark but will fade. Your colour is chosen determining your skin tone and your brow hair (not your head of hair as colours may change) your bare face is also taken into consideration you may need to apply makeup to the area to enhance the colour when wearing a full face of makeup to ensure your brows are suitable whilst maintaining  a bare face.

THE PERFECTION VISIT

A perfection visit 4-6 weeks is highly advised to complete your tattoo, make any alterations to colour and shape once healed to give you the best outcome.

The perfection visit price is determined by how long you leave the appointment

As it cannot be determined how your body accepts the pigment more than 1 perfection visit may be required at an additional cost.

You skin will not be completely recovered for 4-6 weeks and the outcome of your tattoo can not be determined till this time has lapsed.

THE 7 DAY WOUND HEALING PHASE

You must keep your tattoo completely dry for the 7 days, avoid swimming and dousing your face with water.

Do not apply any makeup products, creams or oils (other than Bepanthan) for the next 7 days

Avoid sun for the next 7 Days.

Avoid Perspiring for the next 7 days whilst you are in the healing phase as this may result in infection.

Scabbing will most likely occur. You must NOT be picked as this will result in patches

LONG TERM TATTOO CARE

Long term sun and chlorine exposure and skincare products that contain active skin renewal ingredient will fade your tattoo.

How long your tattoo lasts is a case by case situation depending of your skin renewal and how your body accepts the pigment.

Eyebrow Tattoo

1 Hour after the procedure wet cotton pads and wipe over the brow every hour until bedtime and leave to dry heal.

Start applying a small amount of Bepanthan supplied in our after care pack the next morning after your procedure and 3 times a day for the next 7 days.

Day 1-2 You can expect mild swelling and the brows will appear approx 30-40% darker than the final result. Natural  exfoliation will begin between 3-7 days and will cause the pigment to flake away. New skin will heal over the pigmented area and result in softer and in some cases, almost non-existent appearance. This is due to the white blood cells engulfing and surrounding the implanted pigment.

Day 3 Eyebrows may start to itch and will appear thicker in texture

Day 4-7 Exfoliation typically begins. You may notice flakes of pigment coming off. This is normal DO NOT PICK

Day 8-9 Colour has finished coming away and appears softer and possibly greyer until colour clarifies at approx week 4

Eyeliner

You may have swelling for the next 24-48hrs you can take an antihistamine to help minimize this.

Dry healing is the best method to healing eyeliner. Apply a small amount of Bepanthan in the areas that feel slightly tight during your healing phase.

Day 1 You can expect mild swelling, like you have been crying

Day 2 If you are still swollen you will find it only lasts a few more hours after waking up

Day 3 Pigment begins to lift away from the skin

Day 4 Some itchiness is normal but please DO NOT PICK

Day 5-7 Usually all excess pigment is removed by this day. Colour may appear lighter and it will take 4 weeks to clarify

Lips

Your lips will feel dry and flaky for the next few days apply the lip balm supplied as necessary till your lips have healed.

It is strongly advised to purchase and anti cold sore preventative such as Famvir from your pharmacy or visit your doctor for a prescription of Valtrex. Please start this 3 days prior to having your lip tattoo and continue for a following 3 days post procedure.

Avoid Wearing lipstick/gloss for 7 days.

Avoid hot, spicy and oily foods for 24 hours. You may use a cold pack 3-4 hours after your lip tattoo.

The colour will be lighter after a few days and may disappear and resurface over the 4-6 week healing period.

It is very important that you do not bite off any flaking skin as this will remove color leaving patches.

Day 1-2 Swelling, tenderness and a heavy opaque look is normal.

Day 3 Less swelling, tender and hot feeling before exfoliation begins.

Day 4 Exfoliation begins with very chapped lips.

Day 5 Very chapped lips, but almost finished the first exfoliation stage.

Day 6 A soft rich colour may begin to appear

Day 7-13 Lip colour disappears and the frosty (2nd stage exfoliation) begins as a grey/white haze on lips.

Day 14 Colour starts to bloom with more and more colour appearing each day, until 4 weeks post procedure.

Day 30 Healing should be complete. The colour you see is the end result. Your lips may remain slightly dry for a month or two, so please use a good lip balm with SPF30 and they will return to normal.
